Adobe gets rid of Flash browser plug-in for mobile devices
Adobe says it is abandoning its work on a mobile Flash Player version to concentrate its mobile software development efforts on HTML5. In a blog post, Danny Winokur, vice president and general manager of interactive development stated: “Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with new mobile device configurations (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.) following the upcoming release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook. We will of course continue to provide critical bug fixes and security updates for existing device configurations. We will also allow our source code licensees to continue working on and release their own implementations. HTML5 is now universally supported on major mobile devices, in some cases exclusively. This makes HTML5 the best solution for creating and deploying content in the browser across mobile platforms. We are excited about this, and will continue our work with key players in the HTML community, including Google, Apple, Microsoft and RIM, to drive HTML5 innovation they can use to advance their mobile browsers. ”
The company states it still sees an open area for Flash in video and gaming but it sees the trend towards moving away from plug-ins towards the new standard. Winokur stated “…we will design new features in Flash for a smooth transition to HTML5 as the standards evolve so developers can confidently invest knowing their skills will continue to be leveraged.”

Hailing from Western Cape, South Africa, Tertia du Toit artwork inspires those long lost feelings of running until you can run no more, fall down laughing in the mud while slinging it at your best friend, then getting back up and doing it all over again. Review: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
This is one of the most anxiously awaited games of the year! Maybe not on the level of other anxiously awaited events like Christmas, the Super Bowl, Gerry Sandusky’s prison sentence, or the new IPhone
, but to video game fanatics, it ranks right up there. Most reviews for the game have been very favorable, ranging between 9 out of 10 and 4.5 out of 5. I must admit, the game play is similar to the last Uncharted, but the visuals are the best thing about this new installment. The landscapes, city views, and 3D backgrounds make you believe you are really there. The only thing missing is a wind machine or a fan behind the TV spraying mist of water or sand at certain times during the action to extend the realism.
Verdict: What Uncharted 3 lacks in originality, it makes up in creativity. What do you gamers think about U3:DD? Hit us up and let us know!
