Let’s Meetup!

One of the best ways I’ve found to network with individuals having the same career interests as mine was by using the Meetup network.  If none of you have used it, I highly recommend it.  A Meetup is exactly what it sounds like.  It is basically a forum where groups of people come together, discuss their business problems and techniques, and network with individuals to continue this communications process.  There are hundreds of groups residing on the Meetup network with names such as Social Media Analytics DC, The Baltimore WordPress Group, and Web Design and Development.  Whatever your interests are, there are probably many groups in your city that fit your interest.

I attended my first Meetup this week and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I met many entrepreneurs, heads of non-profit organizations, and individuals who just wanted to see what the meeting was about.  I managed to network with lawyers, doctors, Web designers and  project managers.  Everyone was eager to exchange information and offer help on subjects as diverse law, finances, cooking, and business management.  So, if  you enjoy networking, meeting new people, and discussing topics relevant to your business, check out some of the groups on meetup.com
