The Birth of a NuGeneration

It has been almost one year since this blog was started. My reasoning for starting the blog was mainly as an outlet for those new to Web design and development. At the time, I had just recently changed my college major to Web Development using .NET and I searched all over WordPress.com for others like me; specifically college students who were novices to the field. I was still new to search engine optimization, Google Adsense, Ad Words, and so forth, so I really wasn’t out to make money from the blog. I just wanted to learn and share what I had learned with others. My husband came up with the name NuGeneration but we wanted to speak on much more than just Web design. So, we called the blog “It’s a NuGeneration” because of the ever-changing technology throughout our generation.

I have learned throughout my searches that to draw visitors, you must write interesting articles. Many people are looking for tutorials and how-to’s which is still a work in progress. I would like to incorporate videos on how to program in many of the programming languages or how to use certain editors for design. Recently, we obtained a professional logo for our company (see above). I discovered logomyway.com from other bloggers. This site gives you access to over 15,000 designers who will compete to design a logo to your specifications. I must say I am very pleased with our winning designer’s logo. She styled it exactly as we asked and then some. The theme we have incorporated for this blog is called The Standard Theme. In my opinion, it is one of the best Themes on the market and that is why we continue to use it for this blog. According to Google Analytics, most of our readers are from India, Pakistan, and the Philippines, mainly because there is a strong interest in Web development in those areas. We do not receive an astronomical amount of traffic, like Mashable Magazine, but we are very thankful to the loyal readers that we have, and those who have signed up for our newsletter. We are also thankful for our guest bloggers, especially those who share the purpose of providing interesting material that goes beyond just trying to get someone to link to your Web site.

Eventually (fingers crossed), NuGeneration Web Design will transition into an entity that can provide customers with IT consulting services, custom Web site development (done by me), and SEO marketing. Right now, we are a reseller business offering the best in hosting and free email accounts, and domain names.

We strive to be the best in all our endeavors and hope that you will continue to read our blog and let us host your Web site.
